In 2016 4 of our Regional Experts were fortunate enough to travel to South Africa on an inspection visit. As part of our ongoing commitment to provide once-in-a-lifetime experiences for our groups, they were tasked with ensuring all facilities, excursions, and accommodation that we provide live up to our exacting standards.
The tour started with a site inspection visit of Klein De Zalze. The team then moved onto Stellenbosch Academy of Sport which is located just east of Cape Town and offers indoor and outdoor world-class training facilities along with on-site accommodation.
The team then went on to visit the Protea Hotel Stellenbosch – one of the accommodation choices that we provide to groups. That visit was followed by an excursion featuring whale watching, a favourite attraction to the groups visiting South Africa.
Next on the itinerary was the Garden Route Game Lodge – located just 3,5 hours from Cape Town, this game reserve is a logical safari choice for any group.
Sightings of the BIG 5 are frequent and visitors spending one or two nights will usually see at least 4 of the BIG 5 (lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and Cape buffalo) during their stay. Herds of zebra, wildebeest, springbok, eland, impala and other antelope species are abundant.
