This week we introduce you to Jed – Head of Sales for Northern Ireland and Scotland, and occasional media celebrity! We talk to him about his childhood sporting hero, what he likes to do in his spare time and what made him join the inspiresport team.
-
Why did you want to join inspiresport?
I was lucky enough to be one of the original founding team members at inspiresport. I believed in our vision and I’m happy to have seen it succeed. Seeing over 100,000 young players (and counting) that have enjoyed a sports development tour with us has convinced me I made the right choice.
-
How long have you been with inspiresport?
14 years!
-
What do you like the most about your job?
I love giving young players the chance to live their dream of training at the sporting homes of their heroes.
-
As a child, what did you think you were going to be when you grew up and why?
I wanted to be a footballer so I’d play at every chance I got. I really have a true love for the sport.
-
If you had to describe yourself with just one emoji – which one would it be and why?
🥃 – glass always half full. I think I am a positive thinker with a can-do attitude!
-
What do you like doing in your spare time – do you have any hobbies/how do you relax?
I enjoy martial arts, watching sport and having coffee (decaf). I also love spending time with friends and family.
-
Have you/ do you play any sports?
I play football (slowly), I go swimming as often as possible and I practice martial arts.
-
If you were a Disney character who would you be and why?
Donald Duck – he is quakers!
-
Who’s your childhood sporting hero?
Diego Maradona in his prime! Genius!!!
-
What is your favourite inspiresport tour and why?
So many to choose from. That’s what makes us unique as we have so many exclusive destinations and each has wonderful hidden gems. So if I put them all together then that would be my favourite! Diplomatic as ever!
Watch out for next week’s interview on Wednesday when we’ll introduce you to another member of our dedicated team.
