Burnham Grammer School Tour Australia and New Zealand
Party Leader Karen Ive of Burnham Grammar School from Buckinghamshire, recently took 54 pupils on a tour of a lifetime to Australia and New Zealand with inspiresport. So was life down under everything they’d hoped for? Here’s what Karen had to say…
What do you feel were some of the highlights of the trip?
“The cultural experience in New Zealand was a particular highlight with the boys facing the Hakka before each fixture. It was also so positive to see the tour influencing the development of quiet students who began joining in and mixing socially.”
A tour down under is often described as a life changing experience for it offers the chance to interact with some of the most unique culture. From experiencing the fearsome Hakka up close and personal to learning about the aboriginal way of life, a tour to the Southern Hemisphere will leave your party with memories to last a lifetime. Moreover, a sports tour brings together students who will share some incredible memories which in turn develops new friendships.
How did students respond to the trip?
“All the students responded so positively and enjoyed the whole experience. From walking tours of Sydney and jet boating in Queenstown to coaching sessions with an ex All Black and Silver Fern, the trip was a fantastic experience.”
A tour down under allows groups to play against arguably the best junior rugby and netball sides in the world which can be a fantastic development curve in any young sporting career. Yet, the benefit of booking a tour with inspiresport is that your trip is tailored to suit your needs so all abilities can be catered for and all fixtures are balanced and competitive. Furthermore, a tour down under allows students to experience some of the most beautiful and iconic landscapes in the world. From the stunning Sydney Harbour to the picturesque Queenstown, this tour will be unforgettable for all.
What do you feel are the benefits of going on this tour?
“Sports tours help develop confidence and independence and the chance to visit the Southern Hemisphere and experience a different culture was extremely beneficial to the students.”
