In just under 4 weeks, a team of 9 inspiresport staff members will take on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge in support of our fantastic charity partners, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
The Yorkshire based charity aims to transform the world of children’s hospices through their ‘the magic of yes’ mission, which helps families make the most of the time they have left together.
Grace’s Place, the charity’s newest hospice opened in January 2019 and offers help to families across North Manchester who would have previously had to travel long distances to access hospice services.
The Yorkshire 3 Peaks is a popular charity challenge where fundraisers complete a gruelling 39.2km (24.5 miles) route through the Pennines across Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent mountains in under 12 hours. At an elevation of 2415 feet, Whernside is the highest of the 3 peaks and is typically the second to be attempted with Pen-y-Ghent the smallest at 2277 feet. Ingleborough stands at 2372 feet and is normally the last peak to be climbed.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be catching up with each of the inspiresport team who are undertaking the challenge to find out about their last-minute preparations and motivation for taking part.
