As the Capital of Wales, and the ninth largest city in the UK, Cardiff has a lot to offer in terms of sport. Main tourist attractions include the impressive Principality Stadium, the National Sports Village in Cardiff Bay, and the city was also awarded the European City of Sport in 2009 and 2014 due to its role in hosting major international sporting events.
Cardiff is home to both the national rugby and football teams and attracts large crowds to any fixture. Cardiff is also home to the Principality Stadium which will host the Champions League Final in 2016, which will solidify the capital’s status as one of the great sporting cities in the world.
