However, the crown jewel of Sri Lankan sport is their cricket team who famously won the 1996 World Cup. If you get the opportunity, head to either the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo or the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy to experience at carnival-like atmosphere at one of the Twenty20 games.
